La Croix et La Bannière reviennent en trombe avec TENEBRAX, un nouvel EP forgé dans les profondeurs de la techno sombre et underground. Dark, industriel, electronic body synth music, hard techno… le duo fusionne une fois de plus ses multiples influences. Avec des rythmes agressifs et des mélodies obsédantes, La Croix et La Bannière brisent les codes pour trouver leur touche unique qui te plongera dans les abîmes sonores de leur univers inclassable et écorché vif.

Derrière La Croix et La Bannière se cachent Acid Mat et Lux la Croix. Activistes de la scène underground, le duo mène depuis une dizaine d’années une multiplicité de projets sonores et visuels, parcourant les clubs avec leur set live sur machines pour faire headbanger tous les dark ravers. Artistes musiciens mais pas que… Acid Mat est également plasticien visuel et graphiste hors pair. Quand à Lux la Croix, elle maîtrise le design sonore et la vidéo d’une main de maître. Forts de leurs parcours pluridisciplinaires, le duo réalise ses propres Vjing, clips et graphisme au service de leurs productions et de leur vision unique du monde.

En juin 2020, Mila Dietrich inaugurait notre label Slab Note avec son EP Infection. Un bijou brut qui fusionne la techno et la trance d’une manière inédite. Le 18 septembre 2020, La Croix et La Bannière font une entrée retentissante sur le label en nous livrant leur version percutante du titre Infection. Leur remix a posé les fondations d’un EP incisif sorti en 2021 sur Slab Note et intitulé FANGS.

Aujourd’hui le duo revient en trombe avec un nouvel EP, forgé dans les profondeurs de la techno sombre et underground. Le nouvel opus du duo subversif verra le jour le 9 décembre prochain. Son nom ? TENEBRAX.

TENEBRAX, c’est une substance sécrétée par le cerveau, à l’image de la dopamine, tout droit sorti de l’imaginaire de La Croix et La Bannière. Cette substance plonge l’esprit dans les abîmes de la noirceur mentale et permet d’entrer dans un état de transe hallucinogène en se connectant au monde des esprits. Une drogue, un son, une image ou même une émotion permettent de la libérer dans le système nerveux. Les sonorités de ce nouvel opus sont destinées à représenter cette réalité parallèle, sombre et chaotique, que l’esprit de l’Homme est capable d’imaginer. Les titres de l’EP TENEBRAX illustrent d’ailleurs quatre des situations dans lesquelles cette substance peut se libérer dans le cerveau d’un individu : lors de messes électroniques ou de raves rituelles (Ritual), dès l’instant où l’on ressent un bouleversement, une détresse ou un désespoir intense (Chaos), quand il est impossible de trouver le sommeil malgré un épuisement physique et mental (Insomnia) ou encore lorsqu’un poison s’immisce en nous, ingéré de façon volontaire ou via une morsure (Venom). Un clip viendra illustrer cet univers dystopique, apocalyptique et angoissant.

Comme à leur habitude, Lux la Croix et Acid Mat nous plongent dans un univers obscur et cinématographique où la transe et la danse sont reines. Leur musique dissonante fait écho dans notre cerveau, leurs samples ressemblent à des mantras, leurs mélodies à des invocations. Le tout s’apparente à un rite chamanique et nous permet d’atteindre un état de conscience altéré. Mais leur musique sombre tend finalement toujours vers la lumière. Leur univers s’exprime et se vit sur le dancefloor pour nous amener dans une transe rituelle libératrice et cathartique.

With aggressive rhythms and haunting melodies, La Croix et La Bannière break the codes to find their unique touch that will plunge you into the sonic abysses of their unclassifiable and raw universe.

Behind La Croix and La Bannière are Acid Mat and Lux la Croix. Activists of the underground scene, the duo has been leading for ten years a multiplicity of sound and visual projects, traveling the clubs with their live set on machines to make all dark ravers headbang. Musicians but not only… Acid Mat is also a visual artist and an outstanding graphic designer. As for Lux la Croix, she masters sound design and video with a master hand. With their multidisciplinary backgrounds, the duo creates its own Vjing, clips and graphics to serve their productions and their unique vision of the world.

In June 2020, Mila Dietrich inaugurated our label Slab Note with her EP Infection. A raw gem that fuses techno and trance in an unprecedented way. On September 18, 2020, La Croix and La Bannière made a resounding entry on the label by delivering their punchy version of the track Infection. Their remix laid the foundation for an incisive EP released in 2021 on Slab Note and entitled FANGS.

Today the duo is back with a new EP, forged in the depths of dark and underground techno. The new opus of the subversive duo will be released on December 9th. Its name? TENEBRAX.

TENEBRAX is a substance secreted by the brain, like dopamine, straight out of the imagination of La Croix and La Bannière. This substance plunges the mind into the abyss of mental darkness and allows to enter a state of hallucinogenic trance by connecting to the world of spirits. A drug, a sound, an image or even an emotion can release it in the nervous system. The sounds of this new opus are intended to represent this parallel reality, dark and chaotic, that the mind of human is able to imagine. The tracks on the TENEBRAX EP illustrate four of the situations in which this substance can be released in the brain of an individual: during electronic masses or ritual raves (Ritual), the moment one feels an upheaval, distress or intense despair (Chaos), when it is impossible to find sleep despite physical and mental exhaustion (Insomnia) or when a poison gets into us, ingested voluntarily or via a bite (Venom). A video clip will illustrate this dystopian, apocalyptic and anguishing universe.

As usual, Lux la Croix and Acid Mat plunge us into a dark and cinematographic universe where trance and dance are king. Their dissonant music echoes in our brain, their samples look like mantras, their melodies like invocations. The whole thing is similar to a shamanic rite and allows us to reach an altered state of consciousness. But their dark music always tends towards the light. Their universe is expressed and lived on the dancefloor to bring us in a liberating and cathartic ritual trance.
